Jean-Baptiste Muard : ウィキペディア英語版 | Jean-Baptiste Muard Jean-Baptiste Muard (Vireaux, 1809-Pierre-Qui-Vire, 1854) was a French Benedictine, reformer, and founder of religious orders. Ordained in 1834, he was parish priest of Joux-la-Ville and then St. Martin d'Avallon〔Charles Warren Currier, ''History of Religious Orders'', p. 96.〕 before becoming a monk. He founded the French province of the Cassinese Congregation of the Primitive Observance〔(''Catholic Encyclopedia'' )〕 and the Society of Saint Edmund in 1843. In 1850, Jean-Baptiste Muard founded the monastery of Sainte Marie de la Pierre-qui-Vire,〔See :fr:Abbaye de la Pierre-Qui-Vire.〕 in the Morvan. ==References==
